Cultivation technology of sown camelina in a garden plot

Cultivation of sown saffron milk caps can be practiced only in those areas where the conditions are as close as possible to natural ones. These mushrooms do not tolerate bright sunlight and prefer moist soil, but good fruiting cannot be achieved in swampy areas. The cultivation technology is in many ways similar to the cultivation of porcini mushrooms, but the first harvest ripens faster.

Ryzhik is a mycorrhizal lamellar fungus. In many countries it is considered a delicacy and is preferred over porcini mushroom. There are many different types of mushrooms: camelina, delicacy camelina, spruce camelina, pine camelina.

What mushrooms look like and where do they grow

The cap of the saffron milk cap is funnel-shaped, lamellar, slightly slimy, smooth. The edges are folded first and then straight. The color of the cap is different: from orange and orange-red to grayish-olive and green-ocher. The head has dark concentric circles. The plates are orange or orange-yellow, thick and frequent. At a break or when pressed, they turn green or brown. The stem of the mushroom is hollow and smooth. It is usually the same color as the mushroom, or slightly lighter in color. The pulp is orange, with a pleasant resinous aroma. At the site of the cut, it turns green. Spore powder is white, sometimes yellowish-pink.

This fungus is attacked from an early age by insect larvae.

These photos show what the mushrooms look like:

This mushroom grows in coniferous forests - spruce and pine. It can be found more often in illuminated areas, forest edges, glades, in a young forest, in glades, in elevated places, on the sides of forest roads. Prefers sandy soil. Grows in groups, can form a "witch circle". In our country, it is common in the central and northern regions. Ryzhik can be found in the center of the European part of Russia, in the Urals, the Far East, in Siberia. Camelina begins to bear fruit in June and ends in October.

It is used for frying, salting, pickling. Very young mushrooms can be eaten raw, without heat treatment. Before salting, the mushroom should not be soaked, otherwise it will turn green. In terms of calorie content, salted mushrooms are superior to beef. Ryzhiks can be eaten fried, salted, pickled. When salted, they are not soaked, not boiled, but simply washed and wiped. In ancient times, they were salted in a special oak dish without any spices, so as not to interrupt the natural smell and taste of mushrooms.

How to properly grow mushrooms in the garden

Ryzhiks can only be grown in natural conditions. For them, you need to choose a place that, in terms of its conditions, does not differ from the place of natural growth of mushrooms. Consideration should be given to lighting, moisture, soil condition, species and age of trees. It is better to choose shaded, but not dark places with free air movement for saffron milk caps. The soil should be moist and slightly acidic, contain a lot of rotting leaves and needles. But at the same time, in the spring, it should not be flooded with water. It can be specially planted for these purposes on a plot of pine or spruce.

Gingerbreads in the country can be sown in the same way as porcini mushrooms, in several ways. Collect the caps of old overripe mushrooms in the forest and chop them into pieces. Dry a little on a thin cloth (gauze is suitable for this purpose), periodically turning it over on the other side. In the selected area, raise the top layer of soil and place pieces of the cap under it. Seal well and pour over with warm water. Or spread the pieces of the cap on loose soil and also pour water over it.

The second technology for growing mushroom mycelium is to soak old caps in rainwater with added sugar. The next day, mix the mixture well and pour it under the selected trees.

As practice shows, it is possible to grow mushrooms in a garden plot by transplanting a forest mycelium. For this, it should be carefully, without damage, dug out in the forest in the form of layers measuring 30 x 30 cm and 25 cm thick and brought home. Moreover, it is necessary to ensure that the earth does not shake, otherwise the mycelium will be damaged. Layers of earth, without waiting for them to dry out, must be immediately planted under the same trees under which they were dug. To do this, in advance, dig holes of the required size and carefully transfer layers of earth into them. Then sprinkle with rainwater. It is better to transplant myceliums in the morning or in the evening.

You can also lay out the old hats in the selected area and cover with moss. In dry weather they should be watered with water. After 2 weeks, the moss will rise and underneath it will be possible to see the greenish-purple filaments of mycelium.

Proper care when growing saffron milk caps is watering in dry weather. It should be watered with either rain or well water. The first mushrooms will appear only the next year after the mycelium is planted. When collecting mushrooms, you must carefully cut off with a knife, otherwise you can damage the mycelium.
