Mushroom psilocybe semi-lanceolate (Psilocybe semilanceata) belongs to poisonous mushrooms and has a psychoactive effect. Already within the first hour of action, moderate side effects are felt: discomfort in the stomach, cold and tremors, dyspnea, visual impairment.

However, it is necessary to know where the semi-lanceolate psilocybe is growing in order to avoid these places in order to avoid poisoning.

Psilocyba mushrooms can be found: on moist fertile meadows and fields in the countries of the Northern Hemisphere with subarctic and temperate climates. It prefers to grow among grass: on pastures or barren meadows, glades, in humid places, on hummocks, on irrigated surfaces.

Hat (diameter 4-22 cm): usually olive, gray, beige or brownish. In young mushrooms, conical or bell-shaped, it changes over time to almost completely spread.

Pay attention to the photo of a semi-lanceolate psilocybe: the edges of the cap are speckled with grooves, and, as a rule, there is a blunt tubercle in the center. The skin, which is often slippery and slightly sticky, is easily removed from the pulp.

Leg (height 4-12 cm): white, grayish or yellowish, very thin, hollow, curved. At the very base, small scales can often be seen.

Pulp: thin, yellowish. When broken or cut, it emits an aroma of withered grass or mold.

Plates: ocher or grayish color. As the mushroom matures, they acquire a dark blue or purple hue or turn black.

Where psilocybians can be found, their counterparts also grow: the inedible tender conocybe (Conocybe tenera), which is distinguished by darker, dark chocolate colored plates.

When the semi-lanceolate psilocybs grow

Semi-lanceolate psilocybs grow when the summer heat begins to subside. The peak of their distribution is mid-August. Fruiting ends in early January.

Eating: not used.

Application in traditional medicine: does not apply.

Important! Semi-lanceolate psilocybe contains psilocin, therefore it is subject to the law of the Russian Federation on combating drug trafficking. And excessive and prolonged use of these mushrooms can lead to suicidal moods.
